Our History

Crying Light Studios was created in June of 2023 by founder Darien Reimold, creating his first film "Once Again". In December of 2023, Braeden Ness and Carter Coats joined the studio with their debut film being "Have Your Seen Me?". The next film, "Last Job", introduced Lucas Rishel to the group in February of 2024. This core group continued to make films together, with Jonah Lewis joining in May of 2025 in the film "Lone Cowboy: Rise of a Star". Daphne McNamara made her debut as the first color, Pink, in the "World of Colors" series in June 2025. In "Don't Turn Off The TV", Ryan Kane and Ryelan Swartz both also joined. Crying Light Studios had its first Christmas party in December 2025.

About Our Founder

Darien Reimold is a 19 year old award-winning filmmaker and the founder of Crying Light Studios. Reimold has been creating online video content since he was 12 years old and established Crying Light Studios in his Sophomore year of high school. After high school he started his college education at Penn State York, hoping to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production and minors in Digital Media Trends and Analytics and Business in the Liberal Arts. Reimold started a film and media production club at Penn State York. He has previously done work for the West York Daily Fetch, the York County Alliance for Learning, and the Centre Film Festival.
